KIDS KORNER

by Gerry Dueck

GREETINGS!

FALL! And I've had a very busy hot summer, many days without enough volunteer help in the Mission Resource Center. In addition to helping in the MRC, I prepared and taught the weekly kids summer story hour. The attendance ranged from 2 to 17!

I'm receiving so many letters from you dear people who are reading this magazine -- from New Zealand to Nigeria! Don't forget -- the ultimate goal in reaching and teaching children is to inform and challenge them to help reach the Unreached Peoples.

- NEW -
Who is a Missionary? by Barbara Campbell, author of I Don't Want To Wait Until I'm Grown Up (new in 1991). This curriculum debuted at the ACMC Convention in July, '92, and is a set of 11 missions education lessons for elementary children. Lesson booklet, $12.95; packet with booklet, video, and flannelgraphs, $49.95. Write or call ACMC, P.O. Box ACMC, Wheaton, IL 60189-8000; (800)798-ACMC.

New cassette tapes of the ACMC '92 conference are available. Call the above (800) number for details. The children's missions track tape is: SC 811" Mission Education for Kids --One Way to Their Parents" (Cindy Donahue).

Mission Adventures In Many Lands, by Lawrence Driskill, is a bright collection of 52 mission adventures, many of them from Japan. These true-to-life tales, geared for grades 4 to 6 have already been used in many churches. The author was a missionary to Japan. $11.95, Paperback. Order from William Carey Library Publishers (address on the last page).

I hope you looked very closely at the July-August issue of this magazine, because there are six NEW listings in the children's section, making a total of 12 listings -- in addition to the book, KIDS FOR THE WORLD.

WITH THE LORD. Many of you have asked when the children's version of Operation World will be ready. Jill Johnstone, the author, went to be with the Lord a few months ago, but not before she wrote me that it will be ready this fall. Titled You Can Change the World, it can be order from; WEC Int., P.O. Box 1707, Fort Washington, PA 19034. (215) 646-2322. Ask for cost.

Write to Children's Missions Resource Center for the 2 Supplements to Kids For the World.
